Matcha Jikan - meaning time for matcha, is a journey to Japan without leaving Poland. It is a weekend during which you will discover the secrets of traditional Japanese matcha tea, learn how to prepare it according to the art, and also create your own chawan, a ceramic vessel for matcha – a unique vessel that will stay with you forever.

MARTA SKORUPSKA
Workshops with Marta Skorupska
Expert in Japanese tea, traveler and author, Tea Sommelier at Sento SPA Młyn Klekotki. Marta completed the prestigious Tea Master Course in Kyoto, interned in Nagasaki Prefecture, and traveled to Japan multiple times in search of the best tea leaves. During the workshop, Marta will introduce you to the world of matcha - from history and culture, through accessories, to practice.
Workshop program:
- Matcha - history and significance in Japanese culture.
- Chanoyu - what the tea ceremony is and its meaning.
- Accessories (chawan, chasen, chashaku, natsume) and their use.
- Tasting of three types of matcha.
- Pairing tea with traditional wagashi sweets.
- Practice - preparing matcha independently.
Each participant will receive:
- chasen (bamboo whisk),
- chashaku (bamboo spoon),
- other essential accessories to continue the ritual at home.

ADA BIEGAŁA
Workshops with Ada Biegała
A ceramicist who creates unique, handmade vessels - from tea bowls and mugs to bowls and plates. Each of her works is one of a kind, full of character and unique details. During the Saturday workshops, Ada will lead classes on painting tea bowls for matcha.
What to expect:
- you will learn the ceramics creation process and the biscuit firing stage,
- you will prepare a sketch of your design,
- you will paint the tea bowl with special, safe paints,
- the finished work will be glazed, fired at 1240°C and sent back to you.
Your hand-decorated tea bowl will become a unique vessel - perfect for future matcha rituals.
